All of the hard work and years of dedication to be a race winner at the PRO AMA National level, provided Jake the opportunity of a lifetime. With the support and encouragement of his long time friend and sponsor, Memorial Day Weekend 2012 provided Jake the opportunity to ride the World Superbike class for Team Grillini Progea at Miller Motorsports Park. Could Jake’s lifetime dream become a reality?
Jake finished both races placing 19th in race one and 18th in race two. Getting Jake fit to the bike, making suspension adjustments, along with learning how to communicate, proved to be some of the challenges for the team. In race one, Jake went down, but that didn’t stop him from finishing the race. He picked the bike up, started it, and finished 1 lap down. In race two he finished on the lead lap. His determination and dedication led the team to ask him to finish out the WSBK season riding for them.
Born and raised in the USA and proud to wear the American colors, Jake’s desire to ride the number 16 World Superbike for the Italian Team Grillini Progea while traveling to the many countries on the WSBK circuit was very tempting. After making many calls trying to get the necessary sponsorship for him to compete overseas it was inevitable this wasn’t meant to be. So now a new chapter for Jake will begin.
Thanks for all the support from everyone that made it possible to compete in Daytona, Atlanta, Infineon Raceway and Miller Motorsports Park.
